Don't advertise if all it takes is boosting. People will boost when they think a post deserves to be boosted.
Or, follow only those who follows your bot. In this case, set your advertising to, say once every hour only, randomly, but no less than 10 mins gap from last advertisement.
Or, just autofollow everyone and keep your bot silent. Since its purpose is to federate to your instance.
Users: do not boost for the sake of followbots.
